Dive into the Fun World of Beavers!

Age Range

Welcome to the thrilling world of Beavers, where the adventure begins for boys and girls aged six to eight years old! Young adventurers can join the fun up to three months before their sixth birthday, and the excitement doesn’t stop there. They can transition to Cub Scouts anytime within six months of turning eight. This means they can move up with their buddies or whenever they’re ready, ensuring they get the most out of their Scouting journey.

About Beavers

Beavers are the first and youngest section in the Scouting family, easily spotted in their cool turquoise sweatshirts. Each week, Beaver Scout Colonies (the groups) gather in schools, church halls, community buildings, or even their very own Scout headquarters!

Weekly Adventures

Every meeting is packed with fun and friendship! Activities vary, but you can expect to:

  • Create awesome crafts
  • Explore the great outdoors
  • Sing your heart out
  • Play exciting games
  • Go on amazing trips
  • Discover the wonders of nature
  • Listen to captivating stories
  • Learn safety skills

Sleepovers and Beyond

Sleepovers are a highlight, often being the first time a Beaver spends a night away from home. Imagine staying in cool places like Scout centers, campsites, museums, or popular attractions!

Achievements and Badges

Beaver Scouts can earn a variety of awards and badges, starting with the Membership Award after making their promise. The final prize, the Moving-On Award, is given when they transition to Cub Scouts.

Explore the Badges

Activity Badges: Earn these for Adventure, Air Activities, Animal Friend, Creative, Experiment, Explore, Faith, Health & Fitness, Healthy Eating, Hobbies, Imagination, and Safety. Some badges are earned during meetings, while others might require some fun individual work.

Staged Activity Badges: These badges are earned in stages, like nights away. Collect more badges as you spend more nights camping out!

Partnership Awards: Team up with another Scouting Section or an outside organization to earn these unique awards.

Challenge Awards: Complete these as a group with challenges like Promise, Creative, Fitness, Friendship, Global, and Outdoor. You can even complete them multiple times by showing new skills and development.

The Ultimate Achievement

The Chief Scout’s Bronze Award is the highest honor a Beaver Scout can earn. To get it, complete six Challenge Awards before moving on to Cub Scouts. And don’t worry, you can finish it in the early days of being a Cub Scout if you need to!
